The Virtual Basilica of St. Franics is interactive, allowing users to navigate to any location in the church. See an online demonstration of the model (requires a plugin) This online, low-resolution model will allow you to see the general environment of the Virtual Basilica. The model requires the Blink 3D plugin to be installed (if it is not, you will be prompted to permit this installation. After installation, if the model does not load, reload the page). You will also have to agree to activate the related ActiveX controls. If you are not prompted for installation, then click here for the Internet Explorer plugin. The Opera and Mozilla Firefox browsers require manual installation, which is available here. This plugin works only on Windows XP (SP2) and requires DirectX9 installed (full requirements are on the plugin's website). There is no integrated text in this model and since it is a low-res model, the images pixelate (become distorted) the closer you move towards them. You can navigate using the arrow keys. Holding down the SHIFT key while you press the UP arrow key will allow you to jump up. If you wish to "fly" you must turn off the gravity: right click your mouse and then de-select the gravity option. Now if you press SHIFT and UP arrow keys, you will float up. Start the online demonstration There is also a 30-second promotional video now on YouTube™ |
